NAB gives possession letters to LDA Avenue-I affectees

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday handed over 623 possession letters (PLs) worth Rs4.5bn to the affectees of the Lahore Development Authority Avenue-I project.

The NAB said booking of plots in LDA Avenue-I was launched in 2002 which had been facing a prolong delay in finalisation of the project. This year, a number of affectees of LDA Avenue-I project approached NAB for redressal of their losses.

Following the directions by NAB Chairman retired Justice Javed Iqbal regarding resolution of the cases involving public money, NAB Lahore Director General Shahzad Saleem initiated the proceedings, it said.

It said the NAB chairman had directed to focus early resolution of problems being faced by the general public particularly in the housing sector or cheating public at large matters.

β€œIn this regard, the NAB Lahore has so far facilitated more than 54,000 affectees in the housing sector only by returning them their looted money, plots and houses etc.”
