Book review: The Amazing Book of Star Wars
There are two kinds of people in this world, those who know about Star Wars and those who don’t. For the ones who haven’t had the pleasure of going to a galaxy far, far away, there is The Amazing Book Of Star Wars that will take you into the world of one of the most loveable franchises of all time. The book not only updates you about the happenings in the Star Wars galaxy, but also serves as a revision ahead of the ninth Star Wars film, currently in cinemas as The Rise of Skywalker.
What makes this Star Wars book so ‘amazing’ is that it is specifically written for newbies, kids who developed a late interest in Star Wars and are on the lookout for authentic reading material.
Written by Elizabeth Dowsett, this book covers Star Wars in every possible way, and everyone who is part of the franchise. From Friendly Droids to Dangerous Droids, Jedi Masters to Clone Soldiers, Amazing Aliens to Speedy Ships and, most importantly, Daring Heroes to Bounty Hunters, each entity gets more than two pages and on some occasions, Fold-Out pages that inform you about the characters’ allegiance and their duties.
The text that describes the characters is printed in large font and is ideal for people over the age of five, the best time to nourish young minds about Yoda and his teachings. Each and every Star Wars character that has appeared in the nine movies so far is discussed here, with their accompanying vehicles, including the Millennium Falcon, and of course, the droids, lightsabers and Darth Vader.
Some pictures are full size and some are in small size, but their high quality is impressive and alluring. Add a giant pullout life-size BB-8 poster and you get a perfect introduction to Star Wars for young fans.
There is a Quiz at the end of the book to test what you have learned while going through the book and how much information were you able to retain correctly. Don’t worry about it as by the time you end this book, you will know who the most powerful Jedi is, which droid flies in Poe’s X-wing, what type of alien Chewbacca is and what is the name of the largest ship in the Empire’s fleet. Impressive, isn’t it?
Let this book take you into a journey that ends with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and makes you an expert on the franchise.
