Eight robberies in Rawalpindi on Sunday
RAWALPINDI: Eight robberies were reported in different parts of Rawalpindi on Sunday.
Police said seven of the eight robberies were reported to the Potohar Division.
Mohammad Ashraf was robbed while leaving an ATM booth after withdrawing Rs55,000 in Satellite Town. He was held at gunpoint by two unidentified individuals, who stole the cash and then fled.
Haroon Tariq told the Cantt police that he was at a shop with his friends Rashid and Banni Amin when two unidentified individuals entered, stole Rs100,000 from Banni Amin, Rs5,000 from Rashid and Rs12,000 from him and then escaped.
The Cantt police were also approached by Bilal Anwar, who lodged a complaint stating that he was standing on the side of the road when two unidentified individuals snatched his mobile phone and then fled.
Separately, Mohammad Khawar Riaz Malik told Cantt police that he was on his way home when he was intercepted by two armed individuals in Saddar. They stole Rs7,200 in cash and two mobile phones and then escaped.
Shopkeeper Imran Khan Khattak was at his shop when three unidentified individuals entered and threatened to kill him if he did not hand over cash and the keys to his motorcycle. They left with Rs6,000 and his 125cc Honda motorcycle.
Another shopkeeper, Rafaqat Ali, was robbed of Rs46,000 by two unidentified individuals in the limits of the R.A. Bazaar police, and shopkeeper Shafiquddin was robbed of Rs8,000 by two unidentified individuals in the same area.
Mohammad Shafiq, another shopkeeper, was robbed of cash along with his customers by unidentified individuals. He told the Taxila police that he was with Javaid, Danish and Hashim at his shop when three robbers entered and held them at gunpoint.
They stole Rs10,000 from Mr Shafiq, Rs23,000 from Javaid, Rs15,000 from Danish and two mobile phones from Hashim before escaping.
On Saturday, two unidentified people raided a shop in the Civil Lines area and stole Rs379,000 from Mohammad Nabeel.
