Pakistani physician elected American College of Physicians’ BoG chair

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani-American physician, Dr Omar Taimoor Atiq, who has recently been elected as Chairman of the Board of Governors at American College of Physicians (ACP), visited National University of Science and Technology (Nust).

“During his visit to Pakistan, he visited Nust and had a meeting with the university’s rector, Naweed Zaman, who congratulated him on being selected on this coveted appointment,” stated a press release issued by Nust on Wednesday.

It further stated that for the first time in the 104-year history of the United States, a Pakistani-American physician, conferred this prestigious title.

During his visit, he also met with President Arif Alvi and PM Imran Khan. With 159,000 members in countries across the globe, ACP is the largest medical-specialty society in the world, the statement added.
