LHC moved for disqualification of Vawda

LAHORE: A petition seeking disqualification of Federal Minister Faisal Vawda was submitted to the Lahore High Court on Saturday.

Aman Taraqqi Party Chairman Faiq Shah’s counsel Advocate Mian Asif had submitted the petition to disqualify Mr Vawda for levelling allegation against the PML-N and using boot to ridicule opposition on TV.

The petitioner stated that Mr Vawda’s act had tarnished the image of the national institutions.

He alleged that Mr Vawda had conspired against the institutions and he could not remain part of the parliament under article 62 (1) (f) of the Constitution of Pakistan. The article 62(1) (f) provides for the qualification of members of the parliament and pertains to the terms ‘Sadiq’ and ‘Ameen’.

The petitioner pleaded before the court to disqualify the federal minister and sought formation of a judicial inquiry commission.
