HYDERABAD, Aug 19: Work charge employees of the building control department have appealed to the government to regularize services of employees who had completed five years of their service in this capacity.

In a joint statement issued here on Thursday, the work charge employees said the former prime minister had directed that services of all work charge and contingent employees who had served any department for five or more years should be regularized. Following instructions of then prime minister, they said, services of many work charge employees were regularized.

They said the authorities now told them that there was a complete ban on regularization of services. They said they were being paid only Rs1,075 per month and were therefore unable to make both ends meet.

They appealed to the Sindh chief minister to relax the ban and regularize their services. The signatories to the statement included S.M. Asif, Ashiq Ali, Nadeem, Mohammad Irfan, Shakeel and Imran.
