Wheat flour fair price shops set up in Swabi
SWABI: About 17 fair price shops of wheat flour have been established here in the district to provide the commodity to people at the price fixed by the government.
Officials told this correspondent on Friday that the district administration had asked the people to get flour at fixed price from these shops.
District food controller Sher Fayaz Khan said that distribution of flour had been arranged at Kisan market in Kotha, GadoonAmazai Industrial Estate main bazaar, Workers Colony, Charbagh, Shewa Adda and some other areas where 20kg bag of wheat flour was available at Rs808.
Deputy commissioner Shahid Mehmood has been monitoring the wheat flour distribution activities. He said that there was no wheat flour crisis in the district.
Officials said that 4,000 bags of 20kg each would be distributed daily in the district. However, the residents said that price of flour had jumped to Rs1,150 per 20kg bag in the market. They said that the government should control prices in the market and ensure provision of quality flour to all the consumers.
CHARAS SEIZED: Police seized over five kilogrammes of charas here on Friday.
SHO Jihad Khan said that on a tip-off they arrested one Masooq Khan in Shewa village and recovered 1.6 kilogrammes of charas from him. An FIR has been registered against him at Parmuli police station.
Also, Swabi city police SHO recovered over four kilogrammes of charas allegedly from Aitbar Khan, Bakhtiar Khan and Shahryar Khan and also arrested a proclaimed offender, identified as Rohal Ali of Maneri Bala village.
LABOUR OFFICE: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Labour has opened a branch office in Gadoon Industrial Estate Economic Zone to facilitate the workers of GadoonAmazai Industrial Estate.
It was a longstanding demand of the workers because the office of deputy director labour was located in the district headquarters and the workers had been facing difficulties in approaching it.
