HARIPUR: A teenage boy committed suicide over unknown reasons, police said here on Tuesday.

They said that it was second incident of suicide within two days. Khalabat Township police quoted Mehmood of Qaziyan village as saying that his son Obaid, 19, seemed to be mentally disturbed over unknown reasons.

He said that on Monday evening, he went to his room without having dinner.

During the midnight the family members rushed to his room after hearing a gunshot and when they broke into the room they found Obaid lying in a pool of blood, he added.

The family members shifted the boy to Haripur Trauma Centre but the doctors pronounced him dead. It may be added that on Monday morning a teenage girl in Alooli village had killed herself by consuming anti-rodents, police told.

Meanwhile, a man who, received burn injuries during a fire incident, died in hospital, family sources said here on Tuesday.

According to police and family sources, Haq Nawaz Khan was sleeping in the upstairs room of his shop in Panian village when the fire broke out due to gas heater.

He suffered severe burn injuries and was shifted to Wah Cantonment Hospital where he remained hospitalised for more than a week but could not survive and succumbed to burns on Tuesday.
