Shopkeepers fined in Kohat

KOHAT: The district administration fined 20 shopkeepers during an operation against hoarding and encroachments in different bazaars here on Wednesday.

AAC Murad Hoti raided hotels and grocery outlets at the Charsi, Bannu, Miankhel and chicken bazaars. He warned the shopkeepers that strict action would be taken against them if they again encroached upon part of the road and created hurdles to the traffic and pedestrians.

Later, he checked records of Gandiali revenue office and directed the staff to complete the land transfers.

MEDICAL CAMP: Chaudhry Rehmat Ali Foundation held a free medical camp in remote Marai Bala area here on Wednesday.

Media adviser of the foundation, Esar Ali Bangash, inaugurated the camp. Assistant professor Dr Ziauddin, neurosurgeon Dr Shafqat Hussain, gynaecologist Dr Nighat Orakzai and physiotherapist Dr Laiba Ejaz checked the patients. In all, 130 children, 203 women, 31 men and 11 special persons were provided free treatment and medicines.

Dr Ziauddin said on this occasion that it was the responsibility of the doctors and rich class to provide medical assistance to people of the remote areas at the BHU levels. He said that the poor patients could not go to big hospitals therefore they had to reach out to them.
