Falcon seized in Dera Ismail Khan
LAKKI MARWAT: A team of the wildlife department seized a falcon from a man in Dera Ismail Khan city on Wednesday.
“After receiving a tip-off, DFO Khan Malook sent a team headed by sub-divisional wildlife officer Khalil Kundi to Laghari Gate to foil the attempt of smuggling the bird,” said an official. He said that the wildlife officials reached the place and detained the man along with a falcon.
He said that a case had been registered against the bird’s carrier under the Wildlife and Biodiversity Act.
Meanwhile, regional police officer, Bannu, Abdul Ghafoor Afridi paid rich tribute to the policemen who had laid down their lives in the line of duty.
He said that the martyrs were real heroes of the nation, as they had rendered great sacrifices for peace in the area.
He said this while talking to relatives of the martyred police sub-inspector, Abdul Hamid Marwat, and area elders in Masha Mansoor village here the other day. Sub-inspector Abdul Hamid Marwat was killed in an encounter with outlaws in Bannu city last week.
Mr Afridi said that the sacrifices of SI Abdul Hamid and other martyred policemen would always be remembered.
