Pakistan’s Kabaddi WC match shifted to Gujrat

GUJRAT: The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation has changed the schedule of two matches of the Kabaddi World Cup, including the fixture of Pakistan with Azerbaijan that would now be held in Gujrat.

Source said the change had been made on insistence of the Gujrat District Kabaddi Association as earlier the two matches scheduled to be held at Zahoor Elahi Stadium were between Kenya and Australia and India and England.

According to the fresh schedule, District Kabaddi Association President Ashraf Gondal said, the match between Kenya and Australia had been shifted to Faisalabad whereas the match between Pakistan and Azerbaijan would be held in Gujrat while the second match between India and England would remain unchanged.

He said with the efforts of Pakistan Kabaddi Federation chairman Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, there would be a free entry for the spectators for both the matches to be held on Feb 14. Earlier, there was a proposal of Rs200 ticket for the entry.

The district administration and the Gujrat Municipal Corporation are busy making foolproof arrangements of the Kabaddi matches and sanitary and other staff have been deputed in and around the venue.
