Police clueless about ‘missing’ SSP, ex-law official

LAHORE: The city police seem clueless about the whereabouts of a senior police officer and a former law officer, both happened to be friends, who have gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

Nawab Town police received an application by wife of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mufakhar Adeel, stating that her husband went missing from his Johar Town residence two days ago under mysterious circumstances and his phone was found switched off.

Adeel was currently serving as Punjab Constabulary Battalion Commander in Lahore and also worked on other positions in the past including SP Civil Lines Division in Lahore, SP security (Lahore High Court) and deputy director FIA.

However, a kidnapping case of former assistant advocate general Shahbaz Ahmed Tattla, who had been missing for the last six days, was registered by Naseerabad police station on Feb 10.

Police sources said both Adeel and Tattla were seen together before the alleged kidnapping of the latter. The police officer joined investigation into the kidnap of his lawyer friend before he also disappeared two days ago.

The matter was in the notice of senior police officers including CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed and DIG operation Rai Babar Saeed. They were proceeding according to law and considering different aspects.
