Quetta-Chaman traffic remains suspended

QUETTA: Traffic between Quetta and Chaman remained suspended for the second consecutive day on Wednesday as people blocked Khojak Pass linking Pakistan with Afghanistan in protest against the arrest of a tribal elder along with his four sons.

A large number of trucks carrying Afghan transit goods and other commodities remained stranded on both sides of the border. Security officials said that the tribal elder and his sons had been arrested the other day as they were involved in the smuggling of wheat and flour to Afghanistan.
