Candlelit vigil for Sehwan Sharif martyrs
SAHIWAL: A candlelight vigil was held at Mohallah Muzaffarabad, Arifwala, for the martyrs Sehwan Sharif on the third anniversary of the blast that occurred on Feb 16, 2017.
A youth group, named, I Love Lal Qalander, held the vigil in memory of the tragedy in which a suicide bomber had blown himself inside Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine when pilgrims were performing a Sufi ritual after the evening prayer. At least 90 pilgrims were killed and over 300 were injured.
Malik Babar Awan and Chaudhry Munawar Iqbal, the organisers of the vigil, told Dawn by phone that no terrorist attack would eliminate the people’s love for Sufis.
They said Sufis always promoted love for humanity and no terrorist could stop the Sufi message of peace and tolerance.
