Three Lakki warehouses sealed for hoarding sugar

LAKKI MARWAT: The district administration sealed three warehouses after seizing huge quantity of sugar in Naurang town on Tuesday.

Deputy commissioner Abdul Haseeb, on credible information, had tasked additional assistant commissioner Aminullah Khan with initiating action against hoarders.

A team raided different places in the town and seized 3,400 bags of sugar weighing 50kg each from three warehouses.

The warehouses were sealed and FIR was registered against the owners.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner has said the biometric attendance machines installed in line departments will be linked to his office to keep a check on employees’ attendance.

During a surprise visit to different offices in Tajazai on Tuesday, he said biometric system would be installed in all government offices. He visited offices of Pesco, forest, finance and planning, soil conservation, Pakistan Post, public health, education, communication and works, accounts and local government. He checked attendance of officers and employees and also examined hygienic conditions.

He made it clear to the officials that truancy, late coming and early departure from offices wont’ be tolerated.

MAN GETS DEATH: A local court on Tuesday awarded death sentence to a man after convicting of murder, and also imposed Re1 million fine on him.

According to the prosecution, Kiramatullah had shot dead Ihsanullah of Langerkhel Hathi Khan in Lakki city three years ago. The police had arrested him soon after the incident.

The model court headed by additional sessions judge Abdul Wahab Qureshi heard arguments from both the sides and pronounced the judgment.

HOUSE, SHOP LOOTED: Thieves took away gold ornaments and cash from a house and a shop in Lakki city on Monday night.

Police said 10 tola gold jewellery was stolen from the house of Tahir located near the bus stop, and cash, prize bonds and cloth from a shop at the bus stop.
