App to address public complaints in Sargodha
SARGODHA: The district administration has introduced citizens facilitation system in the form of a model electronic application on the pattern of prime minister’s citizen portal.
Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh while launching the model digital app claimed that it would not only help maintain the record of performance of open court but also keep the complainants informed about the progress in any action taken by the department concerned in a short span of time.
He said the complaint would be scanned and a code would be allocated and sent to the office concerned. The complainant would be kept up to date about it through the SMS.
He said the district administration would fully utilise the electronic application so that complaints of public be resolved in a transparent manner. By utilising this modern technology, he said, a meeting of the district administration would be held on a weekly basis to review the performance of the departments.
SEMINAR: The University of Sargodha (UoS), in collaboration with the district administration, organised a seminar on the Clean Green Pakistan Index on Thursday.
The event was aimed at raising awareness about environmental pollution that adversely affected the environment and caused global warming.
Vice Chancellor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Abdullah Nayyer Sheikh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Bilal, DG Parks and Horticulture Authority Sargodha Hussain Bahadur, faculty, staff and volunteer students attended the seminar.
Addressing the seminar, the VC said the UoS had launched a tree planting drive during which more than 5,000 trees were planted at the Sargodha Medical College while as many more trees would be planted at the medical college and other associate colleges.
The UoS was striving to reduce environmental pollution and promote sustainability by taking smart, safe, clean and green campus initiatives, Mr Ishtiaq said and added that the whole idea was to keep the surroundings clean, green and pollution-free.
DC Abdullah Nayyer Sheikh said the district administration was actively following the Clean and Green Programme for ensuring pleasant environment; however, the best results could be achieved by participating of every citizen in this programme.
He called for collective efforts and involvement of all the segments of society to support the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign. He asked the students to play their part in maintaining cleanliness not only in their houses but also in surroundings.
The additional DC said 27 projects were completed by the district administration, including safe drinking water, greenbelts, dust bins and parks. The administration was keen to promote awareness among the masses through campaigns as public involvement is much important in making this campaign successful, he added.
Talking about the efforts of the district administration and the students of University, PHA DG Hussain Bahadur said only two parks were earlier available for public in Sargodha in the past but now there were 20 parks.
RPO: Regional Police Officer Afzaal Ahmad Kausar has directed police to improve the investigation side.
Speaking to police officers during his visit to Khushab’s model police station, he said those involved in sexual assault and kidnap of children cases must be promptly brought before courts so that they be penalised.
He further directed the officials to crack down on proclaimed offenders and all cases be finalised on merit.
He also stressed the need for action against drug peddlers and directed the officials to enhance patrolling along the border with KP and control smuggling.
