According to a press release issued by the military's media wing, more than 60 foreign skiers, including foreign dignitaries from different countries across the world, were part of the expedition to promote tourism and "explore the immense potential of Pakistan's mountains for adventure sports".

Princess Beatrice of York, a member of the British royal family, and other prominent European leaders including the former prime minister of Spain Jose Maria Aznar and former Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi were part of the group of skiers.

The group also included men and women from Afghanistan, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Greece, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, UK and US, the statement read.

Earlier, the group interacted with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa. The members of the expedition also visited the ISPR Directorate where Director General Babar Iftikhar briefed them about the improved security environment in Pakistan for sports and tourism, the statement said.
