Man held for coronavirus hoax call in Muzaffargarh
MUZAFFARGARH: Muzaffargarh police on Sunday registered a case against a man for calling police emergency (15), claiming that a family had arrived at Alipur from Iran carrying coronavirus.
On Saturday night, when the family reached home after Ziyarat in Iran, the man, identified as Muhammad Tariq, called 15, suspecting that the family had contracted coronavirus.
When the police reached there, the family members told the police that their testing for coronavirus had been done by the doctors at the border and none of them was carrying the virus.
The family was sent to hospital and it was allowed to go home after the doctors gave it clearance.
Muzaffargarh police registered the case against Tariq for a fake alert and arrested him.
SPRING FESTIVAL: Three-day Jashn-i-Baharan (spring festival) begins at Fiaz Park in Muzaffargarh. On first day, an exhibition of flowers, a speech contest among students, poetry, national song competitions and tableaux were also held.
Addressing the audience, the deputy commissioner, who was the chief guest, said that Muzaffargarh administration held the spring festival annually where competitions were also held for grooming of the students. A concert and magic shows were also organised.
