LAHORE: Bahawalnagar’s Nawab Ahmad Hassan Khan Lakhuvera called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi on Thursday and announced joining the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid along with his colleagues.

Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema, MNA Moonis Elahi and MPA Chaudhry Ehsanul Haq were also present.

Mr Elahi said his party would actively participate in the local elections in Punjab and would give entrants a chance to contest. He said serving the people was his party’s manifesto.

Nawab Ahmad said the development which took place in the province during Pervaiz Elahi’s tenure as chief minister was unparalleled. “Now people are remembering that progress. We want to take the vision of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pervaiz Elahi forward,” he added.
