Former governor laid to rest in Kohat
KOHAT: Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor Lt-Gen retired Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Hazrat Haji Bahadur here on Monday.
Earlier, his funeral prayers were offered at the Fort Cricket Ground attended by state ministers Ali Mohammad Khan, Sheharyar Afridi, former chief minister Mahtab Ahmad Khan, Senator Ilyas Bilour, former federal minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Brig Shehzad, DIG Kohat division Tayyab Hafeez Cheema, deputy commissioner Abd ur Rehman, retired and serving army and police officers, family members, large number of elders and prominent businessmen.
Late Iftikhar Shah had died of heart attack when he had taken her wife to Islamabad for medical check up on Sunday. His funeral was also offered in Sector E/11 of the capital on Sunday afternoon.
ADVISER CANCELS PUBLIC DAY: Adviser to the chief minister, MPA Ziaullah Bngash has cancelled his weekly public day over coronovirus threat, according to a statement.
He advised the people to avoid public gatherings and take all precautionary measures against the virus. He appealed to the people to cancel all political and public meetings and follow the instructions issued by the government and the health department.
