Pakistan Railways move to wash major stations

LAHORE: In collaboration with the Lahore Municipal Corporation and other civic agencies, the Pakistan Railways has started washing the Lahore Railway Station with chlorine-mixed (antiseptic) water.

It also launched the drive to wash other major stations in the country under an identical arrangement.

“On Sunday, various platforms, rail tracks, open spaces, yards etc were washed with anti-septic water in a bid to avert possible spread of Covid-19 pandemic,” an official told Dawn.

He said the teams also distributed awareness leaflets on coronavirus beside making repeated announcements for passengers regarding preventive measures.

“All trains are being dispatched to various destinations after screening of all passengers. Moreover, passengers having no masks are being denied entry to the stations,” he said.
