Larkana board results announced

LARKANA, Aug 29: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Larkana, announced results of the higher secondary certificate part-II of pre-medical and pre-engineering groups.

The controller of examination, Prof Rabnawaz Tunio, said the pass percentage of boys in the pre-medical group was 81.71 while that of girls was 93.33.

In the pre-engineering group, the pass percentage of boy students was 79 and that of girls 86.32.

Of 3,667 candidates, who took the HSC-II pre-engineering examination, only three students could get the A-1 grade.

The rest of placement was as under:

213 (A- grade), 755 (B-grade), 1,434 (C-grade), 525(D-grade) and six (E-grade).

The results of 87 candidates were withheld on charges of using unfair means in the examination while 258 candidates were declared fail.

The combined pass percentage in the group was 80.06.

In the pre-medical group, 10,633 candidates had appeared and 9,102 were declared pass.

Only 16 candidates clinched the A-1 grade.

In this group, 817 were placed in A-grade, 2,834 were in B-grade, 4,311 were in C-grade, 1,118 in D-grade and only six passed in E-grade.

Results of 285 candidates were withheld. The combined pass percentage was 85.60 in the group.

For boys, Vinash Advani of the Public School Larkana got the first position with 894 marks.

Sohail Lashari of the Cadet College Larkana named the second with 893 marks, while Shakeel Mangi of the Public School Larkana secured the third position with 887 marks.

All three positions in the girls group were secured by the Sindh Science College, Larkana.

Nitasha Kazi secured the first position with 960 marks, Ufaq Batool Korai second with 921 marks and Varsha Shetiya was third with 893 marks.

For pre-engineering boy group, Tuheed Nawaz Memon of the Government Higher Secondary School Garhi Yasin obtained 882 marks and stood first, Adnan Soomro of the Government Degree College Larkana got 879 marks and stood second while the third position was shared by Ayaz Chawro of the Government Pilot Higher Secondary School, Larkana and Faraz Ahmed Sheikh of the Public School, Larkana by getting 874 marks each.

For girl candidates, Saira Agha Pathan, of government the Girls Higher Secondary School Garhi Yasin got 881 marks and was named first, Maria Jan Shaikh of the Public School Larkana got 867 marks and secured the second position while Saiqa Ameen Bhatti of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Thul got 856 marks and stood the third.
