TMAs conduct spray, wash roads in Swabi
SWABI: The tehsil municipal administrations of four tehsils here on Sunday started washing roads and cleaning drains besides conducting spray in various areas of the district in an effort to protect the people from coronavirus.
Cleaning of the main markets has also started as Rescue 1122 vehicles were used for washing roads and cleaning drains. Besides, the residents and traders were advised to play their role in keeping the environment clean to kill the chances of coronavirus outbreak.
Tehsil municipal officer Mohammad Afzal said that they would conduct spray across the tehsil, including the mountainous region of Gadoon Amazai, from where the first positive case of coronavirus had been reported on March 26.
The district police have also started spraying the police stations and surrounding areas.
CHARAS SEIZED: Kalu Khan police recovered over three kilogrammes charas and arrested two people here on Sunday.
SHO Fayaz Khan said they stopped a car (LE 8619) near Sadri bridge and during checking recovered a pistol, Kalashnikov and over 2kg charas from it. The police have arrested the driver, identified as Miraz Khan.
In a separate action, police arrested one Umar Khan of Mian Kallay and allegedly recovered one kilogramme charas from him. Police have registered separate cases against the two suspects.
Meanwhile, a man killed his addict brother after he sought money to buy heroin in Mani village of Topi tehsil on Sunday. It was stated that the two brothers clashed when the heroin addict, Noor Rehman, asked Majid Rehman to give money for buying the contraband.
However, Mr Majid refused to give him money on which his brother attacked him with a knife. On sensing that Noor was bent on harming him Mr Majid allegedly opened fire on him with a pistol. Noor was injured and later doctors at the local hospital pronounced him dead. The police have registered the case.
GIRL GOES MISSING: A 12-year-old girl, Malaika Khan of Spinkani village of Razaar tehsil, disappeared a day before and is yet to return home, according to her family.
The parents have urged the people that if anyone got a clue to the girl they should inform them or the nearest police station.
