CDA claims ready to take possession of land for Park Enclave II

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday claimed that it is ready to take possession of 450 kanals of land in Park Enclave II.

In a meeting led by Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed, instructions were issued to take over vacant land as all the pending matters reported by the estate wing have been settled.

In 2016, the CDA sold 300 plots in Park Enclave II - an extension to the authority’s Park Enclave I housing development on Park Road - without taking possession of the land.

Since then, 300 buyers are still waiting for development and the subsequent possession of plots from the CDA to begin.

According to the statement issued by the authority, Mr Ahmed told the concerned directorate to hold a special meeting of the CDA Development Working Party within 10 days to approve the PC-I for development work.

The statement said it was decided that development work should begin no later than May this year.

However, a source said that the CDA will have to carry out a massive operation to take possession of the land from local landowners.

“We will have the possession issue in Park Enclave II. The land directorate will have to resolve the issues of locals before relocating them,” a CDA officer said.

The statement said that the Park Enclave I project director also briefed the meeting and said that possession issues regarding land were resolved in Park Enclave I and only minor development work remains.

Mr Ahmed directed that timelines be met and the development of mosques begin promptly.

The project director said that the mosque in Park Enclave I will be one of the larger ones in the capital and will be built in the style of Moroccan architecture.

The director general works told the meeting about development in the stalled I-12 and E-12 sectors.

He said tenders for their balance work will be advertised after three weeks and work will commence in May. The development of I-15 will begin in April, he said.
