Byco resumes production

KARACHI: Byco Petroleum Pakistan announced on Friday that it has resumed production.

This comes weeks after the Ministry of Energy issued an order to stop all import of petroleum products to all oil marketing companies to ensure domestic refineries products are fully consumed.

“Due to improved POL demand across the country, Byco has resumed production at its oil refinery,” Fayaz Ahmad Khan, the company’s vice-president (Commercial), announced through a press release.

National Refinery extends closure of operations

Meanwhile, the National Refinery on the same day extended the temporary closure of its operations amid sharp decline in demand for petroleum products across the country in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The company on Mar 25 had temporarily closed down its production saying “it carries sufficient inventories to meet the current requirements.”
