74 new cases in Punjab

LAHORE: The number of cases of the coronavirus reached 2,410 in Punjab after 74 more patients tested positive. Twenty-three of them are from Lahore.

Of the new patients, 14 are the Tableeghi Jamaat members who have been quarantined at various centres of the province besides 60 other citizens.

According to the official update released on Saturday, the total number of confirmed cases of the Tableeghi Jamaat was 747 in Punjab and these included 462 in Raiwind Markaz, Lahore. Thirteen cases were reported from Sargodha where the total number of members of the Tableeghi Jamaat suffering from the virus reached 35.

Of the total 747 members of this Jamaat, 47 were quarantined Bhakkar, 35 each in Hafizabad and Jhelum and 25 in Vehari.

Out of 60 new cases reported from all over the province, 30 were tested positive for the virus in Gujrat.

No new case was reported from among the pilgrims who came from Iran and were quarantined in DG Khan, Multan and Faisalabad where 701 cases had been reported. Similarly, no new confirmed case of the virus was reported from the prisons of Punjab on Saturday where the total number was 80 till Friday.
