Uncle PJ Calling: Time management for kids

Rushing through the daily grind of life is as tough and tedious for kids as of our so-called trend-setting professionals! But when children become trendsetters for a change, it may sound unbelievable but it is not impossible indeed.

First things first. Fresh blooming minds tend to think better and brighter than the tried and tested ones. It applies to managing important time and priorities of life. What can be more important for a student than time management in studies?

Though it is difficult, but time should be given to studies during holidays too, so as not to forget all that you did before the holidays in school. The key to success while at home on vacation lies in learning something on daily basis.

What remains vital is priorities management in life for physical vitality, mental agility and creative acumen. It is as important as is a good night’s sleep, light morning exercise, luke-warm water bath and healthy breakfast, the most important meal of the day on which a healthy mind and body depends.

Priorities of life are obeying parents, respecting teachers, helping the old, sick and less-privileged, managing time for healthy recreation towards a better and brighter life.

Time and priorities management applies to managing pocket money in a creative way as given in an example. A kid with Rs100 plans his spending, though he can finish it in one go. He buys a little pop corn pack of Rs10 for himself, gets a couple of cookie packs of Rs10 for his little sister, buys a little treat for his mother, gets a juice pack for Rs20 for his father. Indeed he can do some window shopping for free. Still he is left with Rs 40 for the rainy day!

In a nutshell, what makes our kids’ world go round with success is time management by learning lessons on a daily basis, priorities management for health and healthy recreation, responsibility management of obeying and respecting parents and teachers, lending a helping hand to the old, sick and less-privileged and learning to manage pocket money in a creative and an entertaining way.
