PIA asks employees to avail privilege leave
RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has asked its staff to take 10 days privilege leave at the time when international and domestic flight operation has been suspended as a precaution to prevent spread of Covid-19.
The airline said the aim of asking staff to avail leaves was to keep the number of employees less in the offices.
“The move by the management to ask staff to avail privilege leaves was an administrative matter rather than cost cutting measure,” a PIA spokesman said and added: “Less people are coming on duty due to suspension of flight operations.”
A directive asked the staff to prepare lists of employees of their respective departments to allow them to avail privilege leaves from April 16 onwards.
A senior staff member of national flag carrier told Dawn, the offer to avail leave to staff will help the administration to cope with the situation.
