Six killed in road accident in Okara

OKARA, Sept 3: Six people were killed and three others suffered injuries on Saturday when a wagon rammed into a motorcycle-rickshaw on the Renala-Shergarh Road near Renala Khurd, some 15 kilometres from here.

Police said Rasheeda Bibi, her son, two daughters and a brother boarded the motorcycle-rickshaw along with three other people from Chak 15/1-L. Near Kot Walia, a speeding wagon coming from the opposite side hit the three-wheeler. As a result, rickshaw driver Akram, Ibrahim, Siddique, his son Shan (6) Munir and Rashidan Bibi died instantly while Sadia (8), Khalil and Liaquat sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to the local DHQ Hospital, while Sadia was referred to a Lahore hospital in critical condition. Police have registered a case against the absconding wagon driver.
