Chohan taunts Shahbaz over NAB cases

LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said on Monday former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif had realised that he was a ‘culprit’ in the Naya Pakistan.

He said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had done nothing wrong by asking Shahbaz about the details of his ancestral property and Model Town residence.

The minister was speaking to the media after distributing ration among Grade-IV Christian employees at FC College on Monday. College rector James Tabby was also present.

Mr Chohan said Shahbaz’ assets in 1998 were worth Rs479m while his assets rose to Rs549bn in 2018.

“Shahbaz Sharif is a patient of corruption and the NAB doctors will now treat him,” the minister taunted the PML-N leader.

Answering a question, Mr Chohan said the decision on easing down of the lockdown would be made after May 9. He said the government was busy opening the export sector and less-populated industries.

The information minister said India was dealing with the outbreak and the relief activities in the worse manner. He said India’s secularism had been shattered while Pakistan was protecting minorities and offering them all their due rights.
