Two Covid-19 patients shifted from Lahore to Chakwal

CHAKWAL: Two Covid-19 patients were brought to Chakwal from Expo Centre Lahore on Monday and admitted to District Headquarters Hospital’s high dependency unit.

“Both patients are stable,” Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Sattar Esani told Dawn.

According to Dr Khalid Hassan, the district focal person for Covid-19, one patient is 29-year-old and the other is 30-year-old and both live near Koh-i-Noor Mills.

Meanwhile, a fruit trader who is in his 70s, also tested positive. “He suffered heart problem three days ago and was taken to Pims where he tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday,” Deputy Commissioner Esani said. The DC said his shop had been sealed.

Dr Khalid Hassan told Dawn that samples of 30 people, including his immediate family members and those to whom he had been exposed to during the last few days, were taken and sent for testing.

He said the man might have contracted the infection from Islamabad or from Sargodha where he travelled a couple of weeks ago.

With these three cases, Chakwal now has seven positive cases while six patients have been recovered.
