PIA cabin crew to use PPE

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) cabin crew will use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) onboard flights bringing stranded Pakistanis from abroad.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in this regard on Friday donated PPE worth $ 100,000 to Pakistan International Airlines.

PIA spokesman said the PPE would be used by the crew members on board rescue flights. He said equipment included suits, masks and goggles.

Chief Executive Officer and Chairman PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik thanked the NDMA for donating PPE and said it would ensure safety of crew as well as of the passengers.

“While we are in the aircraft, all our cabin crew have been wearing protective suit, mask and gloves aimed at protecting them from contracting Covid-19,” said a crew member.

Several countries, including China, Canada, Singapore and Japan have donated masks, protective suits, testing kits, ventilators, goggles, medical masks, medicines, thermometers, face cover masks, hand sanitizers, virus detection kits, testing kits and other medical equipment to Pakistan.
