33 policemen test positive in Punjab districts

BAHAWALPUR: Up to 33 police officials, an assistant commissioner and a teaching hospital principal have tested positive for the coronvirus in different districts.

In Bahawalapur, coronavirus has started spreading rapidly as 28 people tested positive in one day. The 28 patients included 24 police officials.

Earlier, three policemen tested positive and were shifted to the government civil hospital for treatment.

MUZAFFARGARH: Six police officials were shifted to the DHQ Hospital after they tested positive for coronavirus.

The sample of 119 police officials were taken and sent to laboratory.

SIALKOT: The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases increased to 368 from 350 on Saturday.

Sialkot Deputy Commissioner Dr Nasir Mehmood Bashir said 9,952 people were still in quarantine in 2,081 houses in Sialkot districts.

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Of nine people, a teaching hospital principal and an assistant commissioner are among the fresh Covid-19 cases in Rahim Yar Khan.

The Shaikh Zayed Medical College Hospital principal, the Sadiqabad assistant commissioner, his stenographer and the son of the market committee of Liaqatpur tested positive for Covid-19.

Other five cases were detected at testing facility at the SZMCH.

TOBA TEK SINGH: Five more people, including three police officials, tested positive for Covid-19 in Toba Tek Singh.

A textile worker, of Chak 151-GB, and three policemen, who were deployed outside DHQ Hospital’s isolation ward, are among the cases.

Also, a 50-yer-old woman, who died a week ago in the DHQ Hospital, was also declared a positive case for the virus while her four children tested negative.

SAHIWAL: Three family members of a trader of the vegetable market, who is under treatment for the virus related complication, also tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.

Also, their shop attendant is among the confirmed positive cases.
