Both lives and livelihoods of Muslims under threat in India amid Covid-19: FM Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has noted that far-right elements in India are giving the impression that Muslims are the "super spreaders" of Covid-19.

"They are using terms like 'corona jihad' and the impact of this will be felt years from now as Islamophobia is rapidly rising in the world," he said in the Senate.

He added that a campaign is underway in India to boycott Muslim businesses. "So both their lives and livelihoods are at risk now," he said.
