Dog’s fur changes from black to white

Blaze the Labrador retriever, was born with a pure black coat and, for most of his life, it stayed that way. He is ten-year-old and lives in Finland with his owner Santeri.

Last year, Santeri noticed a small white patch of fur had developed on his ear, and the change in colour slowly began spreading across his body and left Blaze with a truly unique colouring of white and black patches.

On medical examination, it was found Blaze has vitiligo, a condition more commonly associated with humans, where white patches develop on skin. This unique colouration has made Blaze more adorable and thankfully it has no other effect.

“He is 10 years old now, and has received a few nicknames because of his age, like ‘the old man’ and ‘the funny old man’.

Ice cream shop giving out free yo-yos

Gregory Cohen, owner of Lofty Pursuits in Tallahassee, is giving away free yo-yos with online orders in pursuit of a Guinness World Record. His store is delivering its usual slate of ice cream and diner foods, as well as some basic groceries and the toys and games that the store usually sells inside.

Cohen is giving away 2,037 yo-yos to customers who order online and aiming to hold an event after the Covid-19 pandemic to break a Guinness World Record for the most people yo-yoing at the same time. The record currently stands.

Aggressive chicken stalks bank customers

A Louisiana police department is warning residents to beware of an “aggressive chicken” that has been “terrorising bank customers” at a drive-through and walk-up ATM.

The Walker Police Department said officers who responded to a report of a chicken attack at a bank on Walker South Road, (Louisiana, US) were told by employees that the foul fowl has been chasing customers and attempting to get into their cars for several days.

Officers were unable to locate the chicken, which the department said “apparently anticipated the imminent arrival of law enforcement and fled on foot from the scene.”

“The chicken is wanted on charges of assault, attempted battery, attempted burglary, terrorising and ignoring an order of the governor,” the post said.

Record-breaking litter of 21 puppies

An Australian animal hospital said a dog broke a national record by giving birth to a litter of 21 puppies.

Dr Patrycja Zimmermann, a veterinarian at Animal Emergency Service Underwood in Queensland, said the Neapolitan mastiff had already delivered three puppies at home when she was brought in to the hospital where veterinarians had to go through an emergency Caesarian section and amazingly ended up removing 18 more puppies, bringing the litter’s total to 21. However, 18 of the puppies survived.

The Guinness World Record for largest litter of puppies was set by a Neapolitan mastiff that gave birth to 24 new-borns in 2004.
