Young man shot dead in Manghopir

KARACHI: A 25-year-old man was shot dead in a Manghopir locality early on Sunday morning, police said.

They added that Mohammed Amir was gunned down while his friend Wasif Tariq injured by gunmen near Ijtimah Gah.

Area SHO Gul Mohammed Awan said that the victims were riding a motorbike when four gunmen motioned them to slow down.

Quoting the wounded man, the officer added that the suspects ordered them to go back.

As they turned their bike and were going away, one of the men opened a single fire on them from behind, which hit the pillion rider, Amir, in his back.

The bullet pierced through his body and hit the bike rider, Tariq, in his shoulder. Amir was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died during treatment.

The officer said the deceased was a resident of Nusrat Bhutto Colony and originally hailed from Muzafar Garh in Punjab.
