Nadeem Omar provides financial support to Karachi, Quetta cricket staff
KARACHI: The Quetta Gladiators team owner and director Omar Associates Nadeem Omar has come forward to financially support the ground staff, umpires and scorers in Balochistan cricket during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Nadeem, known for his philanthropic gestures, has dished out a handsome amount of money for 44 cricket-related staff who are finding it difficult to make ends meet during the lockdown situation which has completely stalled any sporting activity across the country for the past three to four months.
The amount has been sent to Quetta which will be distributed by Attaullah Kurd and Sardar Wali under the instructions of manager of Quetta Gladiators Azam Khan.
Nadeem, who has also served as the President of Karachi Regional Cricket Association (KRCA), also provided financial support to Karachi’s 70 staff members earlier last month that also included ground staff, umpires and scorers.
He distributed a substantial amount among the Karachi’s staff which certainly came as a big relief to them.
A renowned sports patron and president of the highly successful Pakistan Cricket Club, Nadeem has urged other affluent people in the country to look after the distressed people during these challenging times.
“We need to look after the struggling people in these difficult times which hopefully will pass soon Inshallah.
There are people who can’t ask for money and we need to keep that in mind and ensure that we look after such people and not force them to compromise on their dignity,” said Nadeem.
