Gujranwala buries 12 Covid patients

GUJRANWALA: Twelve more Covid-19 patients lost their lives in Gujranwala on Monday while another 60 were in critical condition in the Civil Hospital.

More than 150 people also tested positive for the virus making the total figure to 2,000 in the district. Up to 43 people in Gujranwala have died from Covid-19 after its outbreak. All diseased were buried according to standard operating procedures SOPs.

According to officials, 56 patients are under observation in the civil hospital because of their serious condition.

According to Medical Superintendent of the DHQ hospital Dr Suhail Anjum, the capacity of the isolation ward had been enhanced due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases.

Four deaths in Bahawalpur

With four more deaths due to Covid-19 issues on Monday, the number of total deaths rose to 14 in the district.

According to the updates released to Dawn on Monday by focal person Dr Zakir Hussain, suspected cases are 4,594, and 515 positive.

Four women cops with virus in Toba

Four women police officials tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.

A spokesperson for the police said three of them were constables and they recently performed duty outside DHQ hospital’s isolation ward for women.

The fourth police woman was performing duty in police facilities office as front desk receptionist. Two people of a family from Gojra have also tested Covid positive.

Sialkot buries five Covid bodies

Coronavirus related issues claimed five more lives in Sialkot district here Monday.

Rescue 1122 officials buried four people in the city, while the workers of a local NGO also buried a coronavirus victim in Daska city. Also, three prisoners in the Sialkot district jail tested positive for the virus.

They were quarantined in the Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital.

Six cases in Okara

Six more people have tested positive raising the number to 69 in the district, According to focal person Khurshid Jillani.

More doctors infected in Mianwali

According to focal person on coronavirus, Dr Muhammad Rafiqe Khan, new Covid-19 patients include Dr Nasir Khan, surgeon at the Mianwali DHQ Hospital, a staff nurse, two dispensers and one operation theater staff of the hospital.
