Five injured in Swabi cylinder blast
SWABI: Four women and a child of a family were seriously injured in a gas cylinder blast in Bamkhel village, while four people died in other incidents here on Sunday.
According to police, the women were busy cooking food in the house of one Abdullah Tikadar when the LPG cylinder exploded.
As there is no hospital in the district for burn patients the injured were provided first aid in Bacha Khan Medical Complex and then shifted to burns hospital in Peshawar.
Local people said that the house had developed cracks as a result of the explosion.
Meanwhile, four people were killed in various incidents on Sunday. According to police and family members, Ayaz Khan, 18, of Pirtab village was adjusting a pedestal fan in his house when he was electrocuted. In an FIR registered in Yar Hussain police station, mother of one Tausif Khan, alleged that Miskeen Khan, a resident of Yar Hussain village, opened fire on her son and killed him on the spot.
She said the cause of the incident was a dispute on ownership of a house. In another incident, Misal Khan, a political activist of Sarkoibala area in Gadoon Amazai belt died in a road accident and his son suffered injuries.
They were on way to Mangal Chai village for attending funeral of a person when they were hit by a car.
Meanwhile, Babar Khan, 17, of Adina village drowned in Pehur High Level Canal while bathing. Local divers later recovered his body.
EXPLOSIVES SEIZED: Police seized 35kilogrammes of explosive material while its carrier fled the scene.
However, they claimed that the man had been identified as Tayyab Khan of Palosai, Peshawar.
DPO Imran Shahid said that the police spotted the suspect on a motorcycle in Bando Oboo area and when he saw the police party he changed the route. Later, he left the motorcycle and disappeared in the fields.
The police seized the explosive material and have registered an FIR against the suspect.
