Cross-border attack leaves four injured
BAJAUR: Four labourers were wounded when militants from Afghanistan’s Kunar province attacked a border locality of Bajaur tribal district here on Thursday.
Official sources said the militant attack from Kunar side took place at Hilalkhel area of Charmang in Nawagai subdivision.
They said the militants targeted innocent labourers who were busy in their work. They said that four labourers identified as Said Khan, Said Hasham, Mohammad Gul and Mir Baz was critically wounded.
Soon after the incident, personnel of security forces and Frontier Corps reached the area and provided first aid to the injured labourers. They were later shifted to the Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar, by a military helicopter, according to the officials.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack. The local people strongly condemned the cross-border attack in the region by the militants.
