PESHAWAR: Rescue 1122 services are being extended to all tehsils of the merged tribal districts, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was told on Tuesday.Officials told a meeting chaired by the chief minister on the relief department’s development projects that for the extension of emergency services to all tehsils of the merged districts, 1,800 posts had been created, while recruitment on 1,193 posts had been completed.

They said the remaining 623 posts would be filled in the next couple of weeks.

According to them, the newly-created posts, include seven of BPS-18, 13 of BPS-17, 222 of BPS-16, 26 of BPS-14, 476 of BPS-12, 140 of BPS-11, 508 of BPS-6, 20 of BPS-5, 26 of BPS-2 and 160 of BPS-1.

Necessary training of the newly-recruited rescue personnel will begin in the next couple of days.

The officials said rescue stations were being established in 15 tehsils of merged district at the cost Rs2.4 billion, while rescue services in Jamrud, Bara, Ghalanai and Khar areas had been begun.

CM orders completion of projects in region on time

They also said work on the establishment of rescue stations in Kalai, Yaka Ghund, Nawogai, Miramshah, Razmak, Wana, Ladda and Sadda had been initiated.

According to officials, land acquisition for these facilities in Landi Kotal, Ghalju and Parachinar is in progress. Rs6.765 billion has been released as compensation for the damaged businesses in North Waziristan tribal district.

The chief minister directed the relevant authorities to complete all development projects of the merged tribal areas within the stipulated time to benefit the residents.

He ordered speedy land acquisition for development projects in merged areas for early start of work.GAS SUPPLY: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Tuesday said the Dhok Hussain gas field in Kohat district had been connected to the main supply line of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL) after the completion of work on 14 kilometers pipeline.

An official statement issued here said the supply of 12mmcf gas to the SNGPL on a daily basis had begun.

The chief minister said the project’s completion was an important development not only for the region but for the province and the entire country as well.

He said with the development, the provincial government would receive Rs800 million royalty and Rs100 million production bonus in addition to Rs150 million for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Development Company Limited every year, so it would have more than Rs1 billion annually.

Mr Mahmood said a good deal of royalty amount would be spent on the development of gas producing areas, which would usher in a new era of development and prosperity there.

He said the government had taken steps on priority basis for the gasification of the region and resolved the longstanding issue.

“We’re taking concrete steps under a well-devised strategy to strengthen economy and provide the maximum facilities to the people through better utilisation of natural resources,” he said.
