Animated Leonardo da Vinci film in the works

Academy Award nominated writer of Ratatouille Jim Capobianco and producer Robert Rippberger have announced The Inventor, a stop-motion adventure film about the life of Leonardo da Vinci is in the works.

Stephen Fry will voice da Vinci, while Star Wars heroine Daisy Ridley will voice French Princess Marguerite. The film will “follow the life of the insatiably curious and headstrong inventor as he leaves Italy to join the French court, where he can experiment freely, inventing flying contraptions, incredible machines, and studying the human body. There, joined by the princess, he looks to answer the ultimate question — ‘what is the meaning of it all?’

“The Inventor focuses on legacy, how you choose to live your life and how those choices influence others,” says Jim Capobianco.

Comic book for anti-hero Negan

The villain Negan has his own The Walking Dead comic book. The creators behind this standalone story, titled Negan Lives #1, are Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard and it went on sale from July 1.

The comic shop exclusive is a 36-page one-shot spotlighting the enigmatic antihero portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the flagship AMC series. This special issue was conceived to aid comic book stores recovering from the shutdown due to the pandemic crisis and to give Negan a proper send off. All revenue generated will go to the outlets selling it.

“The retailer community does backbreaking work to get comics into the hands of our loving fans, we should all be doing more in these trying times to show them how appreciated they are,” Kirkman said in a press release.
