Six injured in gas leak explosion, house collapse incidents
RAWALPINDI: Three persons were hospitalised with burn injuries they sustained during a gas leak explosion in a house at Al-Noor Colony on Thursday.
Three other persons were also injured after the roof of a room collapsed in Sadiqabad.
Police said Sabir Shah along with Mohammad Basharat, 35, and Sabir Naqvi, 37, came to the house at Al-Noor Colony that had been lying vacant for the three months.
Sabir wanted to rent it out and brought the two persons to see the accommodation. As Sabir opened the door and switched on the light, there was an explosion followed by a fire.
The three persons got trapped in the fire. Later, firefighters along with an ambulance of Rescue 1122 reached the spot and shifted the injured to hospital.
Meanwhile, emergency services and police said Inam, 34, Zaheer, 50, and Mohammad Altaf, 65, were sitting in a room in Sadiqabad when its roof caved in. As a result, they remained trapped under the debris and later pulled out by the rescue workers and shifted to hospital.
Separately, a man was shot and injured by robbers who escaped after looting Rs250,000 from him at Magistrate Colony in Sadiqabad.
Ashraf Khan was on his way home carrying cash when he was intercepted by three motorcycle riders who held him at gunpoint. Ashraf was shot and injured by robbers who escaped with the cash. The injured was shifted to hospital where he was stated to be in a stable condition.
