Shahbaz phones Bilawal, discusses MPC

LAHORE: PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday telephoned PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and discussed the plan for a multi-party conference (MPC) on various issues the country is facing.

The opposition leader in the National Assembly contacted the PPP chief apparently to put to rest the rumours that both parties developed some differences over a joint strategy against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government in and outside the parliament.

According to a statement issued by the PML-N, both leaders discussed the points of the MPC.

Before the passage of the federal budget, both Shahbaz and Bilawal planned holding of the MPC but could not finalise it.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is also holding an MPC at the provincial level in a Karachi.

Meanwhile, Mr Sharif paid tribute to Burhan Wani.

“When the history of resistance against the Indian fascism in IOK gets written, name of Burhan Wani will stand out for being a personification of inimitable courage, legendary defiance & an unwavering sense of purpose. He will continue to be remembered as a metaphor for resistance,” he tweeted.
