Suspects denied bail in transgender attack case

PESHAWAR: A local court has rejected bail plea of two suspects charged with attacking and injuring three persons, including two transgender individuals, while trying to abduct one of their friends.

Additional district and sessions judge Azimullah Mishwani observed that the petitioners, Inamullah and Mohammad Jahangir, did not deserve to be set free on bail.

The FIR of the occurrence was registered with the Chamkani police station on Jun 13, 2020.

The complainant, Bilal alias Kontara, had told the police in injured condition at the Lady Reading Hospital that he along with other fellows was travelling in a taxi being driven by Mohammad Idress, when a car chasing them suddenly stopped in front of their car.

The complainant alleged that four persons alighted from that vehicle and tried to abduct his associate namely Ahmad alias Warra, which they resisted. At which, the accused took out pistols and fired at them which resulted in injuries to the complainant, his fellow Tahir and the driver, Idress.

The accused had decamped from the scene.

The court ruled that it transpired that the charges levelled against the accused-petitioners were aptly syncronised with the medico-legal report of the injured persons.
