Innovative social distancing

This is with reference to the article “Innovative social distancing”, by Fouzia Nasir Ahmad, published on June 27, 2020. It was a very informative article that was also fun to read.

Now that the coronavirus is here to stay, whether we like it or not, we need to come up with innovative ways to go about our lives while taking full precautions to avoid getting this disease. It is not just difficult but also impossible for the whole world to stay indoors for months and maybe even years until the scientists find a cure or vaccine for Covid-19. So a more sensible approach is to find ways through which social distancing can be maintained and some daily activities can be conducted.

I hope someone comes up with an interesting and safe way of social distancing at school so that we can all go back to school and continue with our learning and enjoy with friends.

Use this time well

With schools closed for so long now, most children have gotten into the habit of sleeping late and wasting their days in doing nothing of significance. I was also one of them until I realised that if I had to tell what I did in my life during the last four months, I will have nothing to say except that I slept, eat, played games and connected with friends in social networks.

We are not going to every get this kind of free time again, and I sincerely pray that we don’t see a time as terrible as the current one. But we can turn this negative situation into a positive one if we want. We should use our free time to learn something each day, anything that is positive and productive. It doesn’t have to do with academics too, although it is best for us that we focus on improving ourselves academically.

Let us not have regrets later on that we didn’t do something that would benefit us in the future.

Online classes

This is regarding the opinion write up “Online or physical classrooms?” by Zara Ahmed (YW, June 13, 2020).

The writer has rightly described the ways in which physical classrooms are far better than virtual classes. Students do not pay much heed to online lectures, instead they chat and browse during the class. Moreover, they have made groups on WhatsApp and those who solve any question first, they quickly shares it to all.

Some students are not paying full attention to online classes, but later on they will face its affects on their skills and learning. Therefore, school managements should ponder over it and try to find a suitable alternative which can improve a student’s skills in the true sense.
