Kohat residents complain of power cuts
KOHAT: Residents of Kohat city’s rural area have demanded of the electric supply company to connect Junglekhel with the nearest KDA grid station to address power outages.
Dr Hashim of the Junglekhel area complained that the area was subjected to prolonged power cuts and low voltage.
Accompanied by Pir Tanveer Shah of the Pakistan Peoples Party, he said the Pesco blamed loadshedding on the excessive power theft.
He said it was the duty of the Pesco to arrest power thieves instead of resorting to prolonged power suspension.
Meanwhile, the lawmakers from Kohat division met the chiefs of Tesco and Pesco over power outages, overloaded feeders and grid station fires.
State minister Sheharyar Afridi assured power consumers of the early resolution of the issue.
RESHUFFLE: District police officer Javed Iqbal on Saturday reshuffled SHOs of four police stations and nine other officials.
According to a notification, the Gumbat SHO was transferred to the Reserve Police and he was succeeded by Vaqar Ahmad from the Police Lines.
The Ustarzai SHO was posted to the Lachi police station, while Bilitang SHO Mohammad Iqbal replaced him. The chowki in charges of Bannu, Gate, Mills Area, Shadikhel and other areas were also changed.
HELD: The police on Saturday arrested a man here for impersonating an intelligence officer and defrauding people.
Amir Hussain, a resident of the posh KDA Township, was held on the people’s complaints of fraud.
The police found his documents and intelligence agency service card to be fake and registered an FIR against him.
CATTLE MARKETS: The administration has allowed the establishment of seven cattle markets in the district.
The markets will become functional on July 23.
