Organisers booked for holding bull race in Attock

TAXILA: The Attock police on Monday booked organisers of a bull race which claimed the life of a spectator and injured dozens of others in village Marri in limits of Jand Police station on Sunday.

According to spokesman of the district police, Mohammad Sajjad had applied for NoC for holding the annual event of bull race in Jand which was declined by the local administration keeping in view of the Covid-19 SOP.

On the complaint of naib tehsildar, Jand police registered a case against the orginsers under section 188 PPC and the Punjab Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Ordinance 2020 and started further investigation.

Roof caves in

Four persons were critically injured as roof of their workshop caved in due to thunderstorm and territorial rain in Jand teshil of Attock on Monday.

According to rescue sources, a man and his son are among those injured.

Police sources said that four people were working in a wood workshop when its roof caved in.

Later locals retrieved them and shifted them to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital from where they were shifted to Rawalpindi due to their critical condition.
