ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in a meeting with provincial revenue authorities on Monday discussed matters of mutual interest including the need for setting up of a common portal and single return forms to facilitate taxpayers.

The members also discussed ways to move swiftly towa­rds developing an environment conducive for businesses.

A joint meeting between FBR representatives and provincial revenue authorities was held under the chairmanship of Member (IR-Operations) Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed, according to a statement issued by FBR spokesperson.

On the occasion, a detailed presentation on the common portal was given by Director I&I-IR, Lahore Ahmed Kamal highlighting the current challenges and proposing the way forward.

The participants appreciated the initiative taken by the FBR and said they will share their views within 15 days and requested the FBR to make such meetings a regular feature so that matters of mutual interest can be discussed.

Member IR-Operations also appreciated the positive gestures of all provincial authorities.
