Story Time: Robotic misadventures
The sun was shining bright and there was not a single cloud on the blue sky. It was a perfect day. The trees were blooming and flowers were singing. The sun was soothingly soft. It was just a fabulous day of February. A cool breeze was sweeping the ground.
I got up early and freshen up. I went down and saw my mother, putting a freshly baked cherry and blueberry pie on the table.
As I sat down on the chair and she exclaimed, “Dig in”. And she went for the knife.
Whoa! Wait! Did I introduce myself? Pardon me; I’m Alexon Wingfire, the most energetic person in the family, I believe. I am a man of science and I believe in facts, to be precise. People say I have red spiky hair and fair complexion and my appearance always advocates me scholarly.
Today I’m going to make a robot, named Delusion, that will bring a great level of revolution on the planet Earth.
“I will not come out of my laboratory until I bring this robot to life,” I promised myself.
After I had dealt with my breakfast, I went to the laboratory to put the finishing touches to my project. I joined the head of the robot with the body and connected it to the core and established the connection between them and the power source. Now I had to proceed with the intellectual programming to enable it to have access with global internet service and to enable it to utilise it in its own way.
Side by side, I started to work on my next experiment, a remote control device, which I decided to name Realiser.
“Oh, there are still a lot of things to do,” I reminded myself. “Let’s recheck everything, hands — checked. Arms, yes too strong — checked. Lower limbs, absolute speedy — checked. Feet, that can carry maximum weight — checked. Head, with laser eyes and rotatable in 360 — checked. It’s all done and in perfect condition. Amazing!” I grinned victoriously and went to have lunch.
After lunch, I knew that the final programmes I was installing in the robot would be complete by now and it would be ready to be launched. So I went back and took the life support USB and inserted it in its head. Then I saw the robot stand up and march around me saying, “Destroy everything; destroy everything.”
“Oops! Something’s gone wrong!” I said to myself.
Suddenly its hand changed its appearance and turned into a chain saw. And it started chasing me around my own house. I had to run for my life. It had gone berserk and made a big hole in the wall by its electro gun and it jumped out through it. It ran through the alley and scared everyone.
Well, I was not expecting this but I did make a backup plan in case something went wrong and I decided to use it. I took my instruments, including the destructiliser to handle the mad robot. I went outside to look for my lost robot. I knew I would have to use the destructiliser, that would produce a strong blue ultra sound wave that would then deactivate everything in a 20-metre range ahead.
When I entered a large shopping Mall, I finally saw that robot, but it was not alone. It had recruited more robots from God know where, which included a pair of giants robots.
I dueled with a dozen robots. It was kind of fun, fighting with them and winning, but not when I had to defeat the robot I invented. As I couldn’t defeat my own robot, I had to deactivate it. Once it was under my control, we both went home.
I went to my lab and took the robot’s parts apart, but I blew up its head for I had to now make another one that would always remain under my control.
My next experiment is ready — The Realiser — which had the capability to make things alive.
After failing my first mega project, I was a little confused about my next invention. When it was finally ready, I was a little reluctant to turn it on, wondering if it would work or not.
“Yes, I am going to start it. Shouldn’t I turn this toy dinosaur into a real one?” I wondered to myself.
I pressed the button and a green laser ray shot into the toy, making it glow in the same colour. Suddenly the room was filled with black fumes in which I couldn’t breathe and the stuffed dinosaur toy caught fire. It was reduced to rubbles.
“I think it is again a failure. I need to improve it further.”
Failure can never demoralises me. So I set about doing the upgradation of Realiser to Realiser Z5.
“Let’s turn this monkey stuff toy into a real monkey,” I said as I pushed the button. A red ray was shot on the toy and swash! The monkey turned alive, but was stuffed in appearance. It was moving and throwing my laboratory equipment here and there, including different chemical potions. The monkey went to my special chemical Strongozer and drank it until the last drop. Suddenly, the monkey was much taller and stronger. It grabbed the Realiser Z5 and was soon out of the door! Again I had to chase an experiment of mine that had not gone as smoothly as I planned!
However, I did have an idea of where it would have gone — to the famous toy shop Dorrandar’s. When I reached the shop, it was crazy out there. The stuffed monkey, with the Realiser Z5 now in his control, had turned all the toys in the shop to life. It was a very threatening situation now. I had to do something, and fast.
I had to insert the self-destruction code in the Realiser Z5. But for this, I had to get near the monkey and grab the Realiser Z5. It was hard, but since all the toys in the shop were moving around, the monkey became distracted with all that and I was able to sneak near it. I then grabbed its arm that had the Realiser Z5 and quickly inserted the self-destruction code. Suddenly there was a loud sound and everything became still as the toys became lifeless again.
Everyone has stories that make up their daydreams and fantasy. This is mine. Why don’t you share yours?
